Appel Farm Arts Camp is a gender-affirming overnight summer arts camp for kids ages 8 – 16. They offer connection and learning through an arts-based curriculum, in a safe environment of community, personal growth, and fun! For more than 60 years, summers at Appel Farm have sparked the imaginations of thousands of young people as they interacted with artists from around the world in beautiful rural southern New Jersey.
Appel Farm Arts Camp does camp differently:
- Radically supportive, gender-affirming, conscious community
- Non-competitive arts exploration and personal growth
- Small class sizes and differentiated instruction
- Approach based on Restorative Practices and Collaborative Problem Solving
- Mental Health First Aid staff training
- Experienced, specialized instructors
- Modern, air-conditioned ensuite bunks

Appel Farms has consistently worked to make arts and arts education accessible to youth in the Philadelphia area and beyond. The camp is inclusive to LGBTQ+ youth, and offers financial aid to make the experience affordable for as many young people as they can. The campers and staff are diverse in race, class, gender, sexuality, ability, national origin, and many other aspects, which makes the experience even more meaningful.
