What time is it? It’s Valen-times! From family festivals to storytimes galore, there are so many ways to celebrate with your little ones in the City of Brotherly Love. Here’s what’s in store to celebrate a sweet family Valentine’s Day!
February 7, 4—6 pm
Fleisher Art Memorial, 719 Catharine St.
Dedicated for families and children of all ages, this activity is designed to encourage participants to reflect on the relationships in their lives and express gratitude. Participants will be guided through the process of making pop-up books by Fleisher Art Memorial teaching artists and all supplies are provided free of charge.
February 9 and 10, 2—4:30 pm
Ella Vanilla, 7922 Germantown Avenue
Beginner adults and kids ages 11 and up can learn techniques for decorating festive cookies with Noelle DeSantis, owner of Ella Vanilla. You’ll leave with 6 extra-large sugar cookies fully decorated, a cookie recipe, and instructions to take home for future reference. Bring your family for a fun-filled morning with three floors of fun, benefiting the Intensive Care Nursery at Pennsylvania Hospital. There will be a photobooth, crafts, donut decorating, slime station, live performances, face painting, and more! If getting the family out for a Valentine’s dinner sounds like more trouble than it’s worth, you can still get festive with a specially delivered heart-shaped pizza-gram! They’re the same price as regular pizzas, and you can customize them with whatever toppings you want (or pick a signature combination from the menu), and to sweeten the deal, one lucky pizza-gram delivery recipient will win a locally-made silver LOVE statue necklace from Sermania Jewelry on East Passyunk Avenue. You can also get the heart pizzas in their Fishtown and Italian Market locations, but the necklace giveaway is only for delivery orders.

The muralist behind the Love Letter series will be at Suburban Station for a special free printing event for a very unique Valentine’s gift. Bring a garment to get printed for free while you wait, or buy an already-printed garment! Limit two prints per person.

Families are welcome (with kids ages 8 and up) to stop by the free pop-up archery range to learn how to shoot—no experience, equipment, or registration required.

Have a kid-free Valentine’s date while your kids explore the zoo! Kids ages 4-12 will have a fun-filled night including a dinner, thematic crafts, and exclusive tours with keeper staff. There will also be a live animal show and a movie to top off the evening. Pre-register online.

Kids in grades K-5 will enjoy open play, pizza, sweet treats, and more while you enjoy an adult night out. This event is capped at 15 kids, so be sure to reserve your spot online in advance.
February 16, 10 am—5 pm
Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavillion, 8046 Frankford Ave.
The Insectarium will be transformed into a Valentine’s themed carnival for kids. There will be games and prizes, arts and crafts, live music, face painting, and much more! Tickets available online or at the door. Each admission comes with twenty tickets to play the carnival games; additional tickets will be available for purchase at the museum.
February 16, 10 am—noon
The Clay Studio, 137 N. Second St.
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your family learning the basics of working on the pottery wheel, and decorate your creations with Valentine’s Day themes. For kids ages 4-12 and a caregiver. Register online.
