From egg hunts to visits with the Easter Bunny and more, there are so many fun events out there (and so much candy to collect). So let’s hop to it!

Caring Bunny: Special Needs Easter Bunny Experience

Egg Decorating Workshop at Ryerss Museum

April 6, 1—3 pm

Learn the art of Ukranian Pysanky egg art led by a local expert. Bring your own eggs to decorate. For ages 8 and up with a caregiver. RSVP to Ryerss: ryerssmuseum@gmail.com, as space is limited.

North Bowl Fundraiser for Easter Outreach

Enjoy time bowling with friends and family while supporting Easter Outreach. The Easter Bunny will also be in attendance for pictures.

Egg Hunt at West Laurel Hill Cemetery

April 13, 10 am (rain date: April 20)
The Conservatory at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, 225 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd

 

West Laurel Hill and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation have again partnered for a fun-filled morning with all proceeds going towards childhood cancer research. Mr. and Mrs. Bunny will be there for pictures, and there will be a massive egg hunt (split up by age so everyone gets plenty of treats) at 11 am. The event will also have crafts, raffles, balloon twisters, caricatures, face painting, and music. $10 per family (for children 10 and under). Online ticket sales end at 3 pm on April 12; walk-ins are welcome. All proceeds go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

Glen Foerd Easter Egg Hunt

When children aren’t hunting for eggs at this historic mansion on the Delaware, they are welcome to visit with the Easter Bunny and enjoy children’s crafts.

Easter Egg Hunt in FDR Park

April 13, 10 am—noon

East Passyunk Easter Egg Hunt

April 13, 10:30 am—1: 30 pm (Rain Date: April 14)

South Philadelphia Older Adult Center, 1430 E. Passyunk Ave.

 

Kids will decorate egg-collecting bags, pose for photos with the Easter Bunny, enjoy music from BenFM and then hunt for eggs filled with toys and candy. Hunts are staggered by age group: kids 4 and under at 11 am, kids 5-7 at noon, kids 8-10 at 1 pm. Come 15-30 minutes before your age group. Be sure to check for special golden ticket eggs—they’ll be filled with gift certificates and prizes for kids and parents, too!

This annual egg hunt is for ages 1-12, and includes a toddlers-only area so the little ones can safely get their prizes too! RSVP by emailing sprouts@thespringgardens.org with the number of children and their age, by April 7.

Roxborough YMCA Egg Hunt

Easter Egg Hunt at Momo’s Tree House

The Easter bunny promises to visit Momo’s Tree House at both locations this year! Kids 10 and younger can hunt for eggs filled with treats and other special stuff during this fun event. Egg-hunters will be divided into age groups, and there will be entertainment for the kids waiting their turn. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and are $10—that money can be applied to any purchase.

Doggie Easter Egg Hunt

Bring your pups to Goose Island Brewhouse for an afternoon of fun. Each registered dog will receive a basket and will be allowed to participate in the egg hunt. Suggested donation of $15 (pre-register online); all proceeds will go to ACCT Philly.

Easter Family Fun Day

April 14, 2 — 4 pm

American Swedish History Museum, 1900 Pattison Ave.

 

Children in Sweden dress up as Easter Witches with long skirts, headscarves, painted red cheeks and freckles, and go from house to house wishing people happy Easter, so the museum’s Easter Family Fun day includes Easter witch dress up along with traditional Swedish Easter crafts, face painting, and of course an Easter egg hunt! Free for kids 2 and under, $10 for non-members; pay at the door.

Fitler Square Easter Egg Hunt

Bring your own Basket (BYOB) to Fitler Square for a park-wide egg hunt separated by ages. There will also be snacks for the kids. Come early if you actually want to get eggs, because this one starts on time and gets surprisingly intense and frantic for a children’s celebration.

Rhythm Babies’ Bunny Hop

April 15—20

Babies and toddlers (age 4 months-3 years) can celebrate Spring all week with Rhythm Babies’ fantastic music appreciation classes. Free bunny ears will be handed out to the first 12 children that arrive at each class all week! Plus, fun songs about bunnies, spring, and hopping will be afoot. One lucky caregiver will receive a free 10-class package simply for attending! Winner’s name will be chosen at random at the end of the week from the sign in sheet.

Skate with the Easter Bunny

The Great Reading Terminal Market Easter Egg Hunt

April 20, 8 am—noon

Come early for an Easter egg hunt around the market at 8 am. Then stay for storytime in the Book Nook and egg dyeing in City Kitchen. Get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny from 8:30 am—noon. For kids age 11 and under.

Adventure Aquarium’s Easter Egg Hunt

The aquarium is hosting its first ever Easter egg hunt! Experience exclusive early access to the aquarium, participate in the fun egg hunt, and enjoy free cookies in the café. Times are based on the age of your child; pre-register to select the appropriate age group (ages 0-4 will have their Egg hunt at 8:20 am or 8:40 am, and children ages 5-12 will have their egg hunt at 9 am).

Welcome Spring! Egg Hunt

Start with an Easter egg hunt at 10 am sharp, then stay for a spring bulb sale and playtime in AdventureWoods natural playground. Bring a picnic (or buy light refreshments on site) and make a day of it with your family.

Easter Egg Hunt at Liberty Lands Park

Spring Egg Hunt at Walnut Street West Library

Children ages 2-6 are invited for food, stories, prizes, and perhaps even an Easter Bunny sighting. The egg hunt will begin at 10:30 am, so arrive on time if you want to participate in the hunt!

EPCC Egg Hunt and Petting Zoo

East Passyunk Community Center, 1025 Mifflin St.

 

Decorate a bag, hunt for prizes and candy, and see the petting zoo at this annual holiday celebration. Hunts are staggered by age, so check their schedule for your kid’s timeslot.

Philly Egg Hunt

April 20, 10:30 am—1 pm

This free Easter egg hunt in Roxborough has hunts separated by age every 10 minutes (with 35,000 candy-filled eggs in total!). Plus, pictures with the Easter Bunny, face painting, inflatables, pony rides, a petting zoo, and much more fun. Free, pre-register online.

The Hop-A-Long Trail at Franklin Square

April 20, 11 am—2 pm

200 N. Sixth St.

 

Kids age 10 and under will start at the Great Lawn where they will get a map, ”carrot cards” and an Easter Egg box, which they will use to navigate Franklin Square in search of giant spring tulips. At each stop, kids will receive Easter eggs in exchange for their cards. And at the end of the trail, they’ll find the Easter bunny!

Easter Bunny Brunch

Doggie Easter Egg Hunt

The Stenton Easter Egg Hunt

Located at the historical house of James Logan, this event includes egg hunt, natural egg dyeing, crafts, and games. Event is free; donations are greatly appreciated. Reservations are required as space is limited.

Easter Tea Party at the Bourse

Come dressed in your Easter best for afternoon tea, sandwiches, and dessert. The Easter Bunny will be making a special appearance and available for photos, and there will be kids’ activities too. Tickets available online.

All weekend, Cherry Street Pier resident artists Tiny Room for Elephants are taking over Cherry Street Pier for a collaborative, multi-genre art and music experience. Sunday is Family Fun Day with an Easter Egg Hunt, live music, Sticker Stampede workshop, and Kid’s Sip n’ Paint (tickets to that are sold separately, here).

Easter Promenade on South Street

April 21, 12:30 pm

Parade starts from the corner of Passyunk Avenue and South Street, to Headhouse Square for festivities.

 

Come dressed in your Sunday best and promenade down South Street in this grand and popular tradition. Enjoy Easter treats, live music from the Philadelphia Freedom Band, the Bunny Hop, and of course Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cottontail for photos. There will also be Best Dressed contests in which celebrity judges will crown Best Dressed, Best South Street Razzle Dazzle, Best Easter Bonnet, and even Best Dressed Pet! Nearby restaurants will be running brunch specials so make a day of it.
