The Bourse Food Hall Set To Open in Old City

Opening November 15, here is everything The Bourse has to offer.

As its name suggests, The Bourse was once a commodities exchange; but today that grand Victorian building is a very different type of market. After extensive renovation and a lot of buzz, The Bourse has been reborn as a culinary destination in Old City. When The Bourse Food Hall has its grand opening on November 15, it will bring together 30 vendors under one roof, and will be an incredible resource for families who need to please multiple palates during their visits to the many historical destinations nearby. Here’s what to look out for, plus the details about their grand opening party!

Eats

The Bourse has brought together so many kinds of cuisine, and it spans the globe from cheesesteaks to chaat. There are way too many to name them all, but some kiddie standouts include Mighty Melt’s creative grilled cheese sandwiches, #getfried’s Finger Food Favorites Menu, and Grubhouse’s all-day breakfasts (like “Funky Monkey Cakes”: banana chocolate chip pancakes).

Another nice thing about The Bourse’s offerings is that many of the spots seem to have highly customizable meals, like Bronze Table’s pasta dishes, Abunai Poke’s build-your-own poke, and Takorean’s rice and salad bowls.

Sweets

After your meal, grab a treat without having to leave the building. Philly favorite Scoop DeVille is serving up their custom ice cream concoctions and edible cookie dough sundaes. Chocodiem serves all things chocolate, from truffles to frozen hot chocolate. And for baked goods, visit Barry’s Buns which has (you guessed it) gourmet sticky buns, as well as Philadelphia butter cake, Jewish apple cake, and more; or swing by Menagerie Coffee which features pastries from Machine Shop.

For the Grownups

In addition to all the tasty eats to please everyone in your family, The Bourse will also be a great place to grab a drink in a kid-friendly setting. The Bar by Bluebird Distilling will have creative craft cocktails (as well as classics), and the unique TAPS Fill Station is a 36-line draft system that has beer (21 taps!), cider, kegged cocktails, wines, and even mead. You can enjoy a drink there or get a growler to go.

In addition to these specialty stands, many of the other food vendors at The Bourse have liquor licenses to complement their cuisine. For example, chocolatier Chocodiem’s bar menu includes Belgian chocolate and wine pairings, as well as a cocktail menu with chocolate-themed drinks.

Grand Opening and Bourse Bonanza

The official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 15th at 9 am. Following the ceremony, The Bourse will officially open, and the first 100 people who dine at 9 am for breakfast, noon for lunch, and 5 pm for dinner will win prizes!

Then on Friday, November 16, things really kick off with The Bourse Bonanza. This all-day event will feature live entertainment—including hourly pop-up performances including Mummers, mascots, Ben Franklin, and more—plus more giveaways.

The Bourse is located at 111 S. Independence Mall East in the heart of Old City, Philadelphia. It is open Mondays through Saturdays from 7 am—8 pm, and Sundays from 9 am—6 pm. Check individual vendors’ hours for each restaurant’s availability.
