It was Christmas night in 2021 and Philadelphia parent Nic Esposito was driving home from his family celebration with conflicting emotions. On one hand, he was thankful to be able to celebrate the holidays in-person with his loved ones. On the other, the trunk full of toys for his 7 and 4 year old boys was stressing him out.

He didn’t want to seem ungrateful to his well meaning family members. But despite his and his wife’s requests to limit the amount of presents, Nic was making a mental list of the toys already at home that he’d now have to get rid of so the playroom didn’t overflow. And Nic thought to himself, there has to be a better way.

The Better Way

As a circular economy professional, Nic had devoted his life to reducing waste. But as a dad, he also wanted his kids to have fun. So Nic came up with Unless Kids. 4. When the new toys are delivered, the ones ones are taken away (they’ll even take away toys you didn’t buy from them, but are causing clutter!). 
5. The old toys are taken back to their workshop, spruced up, and ready to find another life with another family.
