Ceramic Ornament Workshop
November 30 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
The mosaics at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens contain many special ceramics. PMG creator Isaiah Zagar makes ceramic “doily tiles” by pressing lace into clay, which he colors with glaze. He also adds his own images, designs, and words on donated tiles.
In this workshop, participants will choose and decorate two ceramic forms – they have nine fun shapes! — and glaze a doily tile ornament inspired by Isaiah. They will fire these unique pieces in our kiln, turning them into enduring gifts or ornaments.
Pieces will be ready for pick up beginning Friday, December 8.
This workshop is being held after hours, but participants may arrive early to explore the outdoor sculpture garden. The workshop will be held in the indoor galleries.
This workshop is open to participants ages 5+, but all participants under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult participant.
Tickets are not refundable.
