Go 4th and Learn: Family Fun Day

July 2 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Did you know that The Franklin Institute’s very first exhibit in 1824 was held in Carpenters’ Hall? Celebrate TFI’s 200th Anniversary and the 250th Anniversary of Carpenters’ Hall, the host of the First Continental Congress in 1774, with entertainment, games and a unique model of this historic treasure built with LEGO® bricks.

Experience the excitement of classic live science demonstrations from The Franklin Institute, celebrating its 200th anniversary in 2024. Plus, exercise your own creativity with LEGO® bricks and explore the impacts of climate change through interactive activities that educate and inspire.

Live Science Demonstrations: Experience the thrill of live science as TFI science performers bring scientific concepts to life through captivating demonstrations and interactive experiments featuring the mesmerizing effects of liquid nitrogen.

Build it! With LEGO® Bricks: Unleash your creativity with LEGO® bricks and explore endless possibilities for imaginative play in TFI’s Build it! Area. Experience this and more at TFI’s newest special exhibition, The Art of the Brick, on view through September 2nd.

TFI’s Chromatography Activity: Join TFI’s Youth Programs student ambassadors for a chromatography activity exploring color mixing. Have you ever mixed paints to create different colors? Which colors did you end up with? What colors did you mix to make black, brown, or purple? Discover the chromatography process and identify the pigments present in different colored markers.
