The Art Department and Special Collections invite you to come by the library with supplies that you no longer want or need and pick up something else in exchange. You do not need to bring materials to take something. \nEvent is at the Parkway Central Library in the Heim Center room 131/132 from 1:00 – 3:30 PM. This event is free and open to the public. Please bring your own bag if you plan on taking things. \nPlease make sure that all items are in good\, usable condition.

DESCRIPTION:At Kingsessing Library\, little ones can learn the basics of crochet\, finger knit\, mushroom knit\, or just get cozy with some yarn on Friday afternoons. Yarn will be out in the children’s area starting at 3:30 pm\, and then Librarian Rachel will provide a short fiber art craft starting at 4pm every week (like pom-poms and yarn dolls). \nExperienced crochet and knitting artists can share their craft with the next generation\, but all experienced levels are welcome.

SUMMARY:Cascarones Spontaneous-Crack-A-Thon at Woodmere!
DESCRIPTION:Join Woodmere Art Museum for a festive day celebrating the colorful tradition of cascarones\, confetti-filled eggs that are cracked over the heads of friends and loved ones to bring good luck. In partnership with Philadelphia artist Marta Sánchez and Cascarones Por La Vida\, this family festival will feature hands-on artmaking in celebration of culture and creativity. \nFrom 10:00 AM–12:00 PM\, families are invited to participate in free cascarón decorating workshop in the MacDonald Studio. Guests will learn about the history and significance of this beloved tradition while creating their own colorful designs. \nAt 12:00 PM\, guests will gather for a community celebration featuring remarks from special guests\, volunteers\, and organizations whose support has helped make this event possible. \nThe highlight of the day begins at 2:00 PM with the Cascarones Spontaneous-Crack-A-Thon\, a large-scale community participation event and official attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous cascarón cracking. Registered participants will receive two complimentary cascarones and gather for a coordinated countdown before cracking them overhead at the same moment. Combining the joy of a cherished cultural tradition with the excitement of a world record attempt\, this memorable event will bring hundreds of participants together in a shared celebration of art\, community\, and good fortune. \nThis event is free and open to all ages. Registration is encouraged.
