The park closes daily at 5 pm to prepare for the nightly Festival. Advance tickets are strongly recommended. \nThe Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival Pass provides unlimited entry for the duration of the Festival: adults (with ID) $90 and children (ages 3–12) $50. DESCRIPTION:The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square is back for 2026! During the Festival\, Franklin Square is open and free during regular daytime hours. The Franklin Square Playground will be fully open and free both daytime and during the evening hours\, accessible only from 7th Street. The lanterns can be viewed for free during the day with a free scavenger hunt\, while a ticket is required for nighttime entrance after 6 pm (no re-entry). The park closes daily at 5 pm to prepare for the nightly Festival. Advance tickets are strongly recommended. \nThe Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival Pass provides unlimited entry for the duration of the Festival: adults (with ID) $90 and children (ages 3–12) $50. Regular ticket prices are as follows. \nMonday through Thursday tickets:\n· $28 for adults\n· $16 for children (ages 3–12\, 2 and under are free)\n· $25 for seniors (65+) and active military (with I.D.) \nFriday through Sunday tickets (timed tickets required):\n· $32 for adults\n· $16 for children (ages 3–12\, 2 and under are free)\n· $29 for seniors (65+) and active military (with I.D.) \nDiscount tickets for Philly Mini Golf and Parx Liberty Carousel are available during the Festival. Depending on the day\, visitors might be invited to help screen excavated soil to look for small artifacts or assist with cleaning artifacts that have already been excavated. \nFree and open to all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). No reservations are required. If guests would like to help out with the dig\, be sure to wear clothes that can get dirty and close-toed footwear. Bring work gloves; the site has a limited number of pairs to lend. For safety\, hands-on participation is limited to those ages 5+.
