Mermaids at Adventure Aquarium
November 3—11
1 Riverside Drive, Camden, NJ
Witness a mermaid swimming among the Shark Realm exhibit, and visit with a mermaid on dry-land during daily meet-and-greets. Plus, meet a pirate, do mermaid-themed crafts, and more.
The Johnny Shortcake Show
November 3 and 4, 11 am and 2 pm
Kimmel Center, 300 S. Broad St.
“Suppose your nose was where your elbows goes — would you call them smellbows?” The funky and surreal Johnny Shortcake Show will return to the Kimmel Center, and you’ll be dancing, laughing, and wishing everyday was “Cupcake Tuesday” right alongside your kids! Citizen Science Lab
November 3—4, 11 am, 1 pm, and 3:30 pm
Independence Seaport Museum, 211 S. Columbus Blvd.
The Citizen Science Lab at Independence Seaport Museum hosts hands-on, interactive experiences for the whole family centered around water, with a focus on the Delaware River’s biology, ecology and chemistry, plus language arts, history and basic engineering.
Franklin Institute Camp-in
November 3, 6:15 pm—November 4, 9:30 am

Kids ages 6-13 (and their chaperones) can spend an overnight at the museum with live science shows, hands-on workshops, IMAX and Planetarium shows, stargazing in the rooftop observatory, and time to explore the entire museum. Sleep somewhere unique like near the Giant Heart or in the train room, then wake up for breakfast at the museum. Pre-registration required.

Arden Bookworms: ‘We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt’

Nature Play Saturday at the Schuylkill Center

Bring your family for a hike and unstructured nature play with NaturePHL. Climb, explore, and learn more about the many health benefits of outdoor activity. Meet at the Tall Trees Playscape behind the Visitor Center. All ages welcome. No registration required.

CraftNOW Create at the Kimmel Center

Hawthorne’s Great Harvest Cider and Beer Festival

This all-day, all-ages free block party takes place on 11th street in front of Hawthornes, from Fitzwater to Catharine. In addition to loads of tasty bites and over 75 ales, lagers, and ciders, the festivities will include a family fun zone, apple-bobbing competition, pie eating contest, live entertainment, DJs, and much more.
Pokemon GO at The Discovery Center

Come check out the new Discovery Center and join the Pokémon GO Philly community at Activate Philly. You’ll see extended Lures, temporary PokéStops and Gyms; plus live music, vendors, immersive VR experiences, s’mores, refreshments, and more. Register online.

Art and Storytelling at Woodmere Art Museum

Playfest 2018

Visit the new Cherry Street Pier, and play with upcycled games and activities from PopUpPlay and other Philadelphia organizations. You can build a fort, create a catapult, design a cardboard mini-golf course, carve pumpkins, and more.

During Playfest, Flygirrl x Artists First are hosting a special Kid’s Sip n’ Paint event led by published and televised Visual Artist and Graphic Designer, Flygirrl. Tickets are available online, and include a canvas, paint, brushes, easel, towels, juices boxes, and snacks. Kids will take home their special piece of art at the end.
