The history of the Philadelphia 76ers and San Antonio Spurs is littered with matchups between basketball legends. In the late 1970s and early 80s, prolific scorers “Dr. J” Julius Erving and “The Iceman” George Gervin went head-to-head, even meeting in the Eastern Conference semifinals in 1979. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, “The Answer” Allen Iverson would fearlessly take on “The Big Fundamental” Tim Duncan.
Now, these contests are headlined by a new era. The Sixers are led by renowned coach Doc Rivers and feature several star caliber players, like Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris, while the Spurs have a much celebrated head coach of their own in Gregg Popovich. The teams face off twice in the 2021-22 NBA regular season, including one game at The Center in South Philly. Get your tickets today!

Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens – 1020 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147
The names of many art environments and their creators are lovingly woven through the mosaics of Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens. One of these is Tom Every, creator of the Forevertron in Wisconsin. During his career as an industrial scrapper Every saw elegance, whimsy, and even personality in the objects he dismantled and later turned into large-scale sculptures. This month’s take-home craft kit is inspired by Every’s work. Kits include a tin candy box and other pieces to create your own small robot.
