Whether you work from home and need some socialization, have to schedule a meeting, or just require the occasional email catch-up after dropping the kids at school, local Philly coffee shops with Wi-Fi are a great place to multitask. Here are some terrific independent spots around the city where you can caffeinate and communicate.

Lucky Goat Coffee House

Stop in for a variety of espresso drinks, smoothies, baked goods, and hot and cold fare.

Càphê Roasters

This Vietnamese specialty coffee roastery in Kensington has a bright, sunny room, comfy couches, and an extensive and unique food and drink menu.

Chapterhouse Cafe & Gallery

620 South 9th Street, Philadelphia

Enjoy organic fair-trade coffee or tea, smoothies and pastries while the exhibits of local artists surround you. Come in anytime: they’re open from 7 am to 8 pm!

The Monkey and the Elephant

2831 West Girard Avenue, Philadelphia

This nonprofit coffee shop hires young people who have aged out of foster care. There’s also locally sourced art and products, as well as an outside garden space where you can catch some rays while sipping your beverages. Looking to host a larger group? You can reserve spots for your team too.

Milkcrate Cafe

400 East Girard Avenue, Philadelphia

This Fishtown cafe offers the basic necessities for working like good coffee, tasty bites, and big tables, but also doubles as a record store for when you need to take a browsing break.

Green Line Cafe

Multiple locations

The West Philly coffee house has expanded to five locations around the city, bringing that neighborhood vibe to each shop. You can get fair-trade coffee here, as well as a full espresso bar, the usual pastries, and grab and go sandwiches. Vegan options are available too.

Volo Coffeehouse

4360 Main Street, Philadelphia

Located in Manayunk, so you can do some shopping, too. It’s a basic coffee shop with your usual coffeehouse essentials, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, bright and open.

ReAnimator Coffee Roasters

Multiple locations

With locations in North, South, and West Philly, ReAnimator has a spot for everyone. The cafes are welcoming and offer plenty of space to hunker down for the day.

Rally Coffee Shop

701 South 7th Street, Philadelphia

This Queen Village coffee shop is designed to bring people together and offer a beautiful, quiet space to work and hold meetings. They also sell products by independent brands and makers in an effort to build community and showcase local talent.

    Hi! Thanks for this list. Just wanted to mention that the High Point Cafe on Carpenter Lane does not have wifi unfortunately. I just tried there last week.
