Roller Skate at Dilworth Park this Spring!
The new Rothman Roller Rink opens April 22 in Dilworth Park.

Since its transformation last decade, Dilworth Park has been a reliable and exciting destination, especially for families. As the seasons change, we know the drill: skate in the winter, splash in the summer. But this spring, a new attraction breaks that dichotomy and ushers in a new era of fun. On April 22, Dilworth Park’s Rothman Orthopaedics Roller Rink returns!!!
The second season of Rothman Roller Rink debuts with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30 am with a roller dance performance from local skate troupe Great on Skates. Great on Skates will return in the evening for the opening night celebrations, including informal dance lessons and activities with DJ Breezy spinning classic roller rink tunes!
The Roller Rink will offer outdoor roller skating at Dilworth Park from April 22 through July 27, and tickets are on sale now for hour-long skating sessions. The rink will be open Sundays through Thursdays from 11 am – 8:45 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 11 am – 11:15 pm. Admission is $8 for 10 and under, and $10 for adults. Skate rentals are available for $5. If you’re looking for even more of a discount, book your session on a Monday or Tuesday between 11 am and 5 pm, when they’re offering a $5 off matinee discount.

The colorful retro design includes the vibrant checkerboard we loved from last year, plus a new overhead art installation of brightly colored beach balls designed by Philadelphia’s Lucky Dog Studio. The whole thing will light up at night and provide whimsy in the day, even if you’re just a spectator. And for sprayground devotees, don’t worry: sections of Dilworth Park’s interactive fountain will remain active on either side of the roller rink (you can also go across the street to LOVE Park’s fountain once things heat up for the season).
In addition to the recreational features, there will be a pop-up beer garden with burgers, fries, cocktails to-go, and more. The Dilworth Park Café will also be open with a variety of options, including desserts and snacks for the kids.
Skating sessions are available in one-hour blocks, with 15-minute buffers between each session. Advance tickets are highly recommended. Limited in-person sales may be offered onsite, but popular times (like weekends) will definitely sell out, so if you have your heart set on an outing, plan ahead.
Locks and lockers are available to rent on site as well, to store your shoes and other belongings. Socks are required, and will not be available on site, so be sure to bring your own.
Rothman Roller Rink will be open from April 22 through July 27 at Dilworth Park, located at 1 S. 15th Street in Center City.
