4th of July Family Day at the Weitzman

July 4 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Make this Independence Day one to remember with the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History, where history comes to life. Located on Philadelphia’s historic Independence Mall, there is no better place for history enthusiasts and families to celebrate. On our nation’s birthday, enjoy a day of activities to promote a deeper understanding of our nation’s culture and values.

Philly’s official 4th of July parade kicks off in Old City at 11 AM, beginning at 5th & Chestnut Streets and ending at Broad and Arch Streets. Join the Weitzman after the parade for a joy-filled and patriotic day!

Schedule of Fun

12 – 4 PM Make-and-Take 4th of July crafts, a perfect opportunity to enjoy the festivities and cool off indoors. There will also be a sidewalk chalk party on the plaza (weather permitting)!

12:15 – 1 PM Sing with Miss Cat from Mr. John’s Music for an interactive and engaging music class to kick off the family day fun!

1:15 – 2:15 PM Meet author and storyteller Thembi Palmer for an inspiring and interactive storytime that sparks imagination and empowers young minds (ages 2 – 8).
2:30 – 3:15 PM Join Adoughma (Ah-DOUGH-mah) dough play; sensory-friendly play dough fun (all ages) with Erin Beser from Jewish Learning Venture.
