Kidde and The Home Depot invite parents and families to join them for a day of interactive home & fire safety education at The Home Depot on Saturday, June 7.

The event will kick off with a Donation Drive-Thru “parade” featuring up to 25 area fire departments, from 8-9am, courtesy of Kidde and the Philadelphia Fire Department, followed by the Cause for Alarm Home Safety Event, from 10am-12pm. To support the local community, Kidde is making a donation of more than $390K worth of smoke/CO combination alarms to the Philadelphia area.

The event will have kids’ activities, food, and giveaways! Consumers will have the chance to meet with members of the PFD to check out their fire safety gear and trucks, as well as learn about safety alongside Gentry, the PFD mascot, and Homer, The Home Depot mascot.

Attendees are encouraged to sign Kidde’s new “Cause For Alarm” safety pledge to commit to practicing fire and CO safety at home, putting what they learn into action.

Knowing that nearly 60% of home fire deaths occur in properties without working smoke alarms – a fact that Kidde does not take lightly – the brand has donated more than $6.4 million dollars’ worth of smoke and CO alarms to communities in need across North America just in the last three years.

Kidde’s Cause For Alarm campaign is helping make every home a safer home. As a heritage brand, Kidde has a history of making fire and CO detection affordable and accessible, which is at the core of Cause For Alarm. Since launching in 2022, Cause For Alarm has been helping families prioritize fire and CO safety by ensuring they have working smoke and CO alarms, and a fire escape plan in place. In 2023, the brand launched “Beeps That Last, Get Out Fast” to help children know what to do in the event of a house fire. The song was then reimagined in 2024, turning it into an emotional call-to-action titled “The Living Jingle,” sung by children directly affected by house fires.
