Paulownia Tableau at Old City Publishing
Artist Linda Lor Gross transforms dried paulownia leaves, often found in empty lots and sidewalk cracks around Philadelphia, into colorful paper sculptures that create striking tableaux inspired by history, mythology, and nature. Using traditional washi paper and a meticulous process of cleaning, bleaching, and layering, she captures these ephemeral forms as lightweight, durable artworks displayed as mobiles, wall pieces, and groupings. Her work invites families to look closer at the natural world while reflecting on environmental change through materials that are harbingers of our shifting landscape.
