Colorful figures fill the artwork of Stephen Wright. In Wright’s longtime London home — the Art Environment known as the “House of Dreams Museum” — these characters emerge from the walls, ceilings, and floors. They can be made of tile, fabric, paint, beads, or castoffs from flea markets. Wright’s characters seem fantastic but they are inspired by his own loved ones and strangers met on city streets. You can see some of Wright’s creations in person during our current exhibition “Walking Round My Head: The Works of Stephen Wright” and take a video tour of his old London home. Then make your own character to hang in your own house.
Take a free tour of our fully mosaicked basement at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 pm and learn how both Stephen Wright and PMG creator Isaiah Zagar use their artwork to explore joy, love, memory, and loss.
PECO Family Jams are PMG’s family-oriented programs, held on the second Sunday of every month between noon and 4:00 pm. Crafts and basement tours are included with regular admission to PMG. Purchase your regular admission tickets in advance.
