The Song of Silence at Venice Island Performing Arts Center

Yes! And… Collaborative Arts presents its annual winter event for all ages with its latest musical theatre production, The Song of Silence.
The town of Colliwomple, once a bustling hub full of friendly people and welcoming places, has changed. It’s difficult to pinpoint when the transformation began, but eventually, the townspeople erected a large wall, shutting themselves off from the outside world. For a hundred years, Colliwomple has remained silent and hidden, its joyful tunes replaced by an imposed quiet. No one within the walls remembers the reason for their isolation, only that it is for their own protection. The world beyond the wall is considered dangerous. However, when a group of children begins to question the status quo and dream of a life beyond the wall, they may discover that the adults don’t always have the answers.
The Song of Silence will have five performances only: February 20, 21, and 22 at 7:00 pm, and February 22 and 23 at 1:00 pm. All performances will be held at the Venice Island Performing Arts Center in Manayunk, located at 7 Lock Street, Philadelphia, PA 19127. Tickets range from $2 for ACCESS Card Holders to $18 for adults and can be purchased at www.yesandcamp.org/wintersortofthing. The show is approximately 90 minutes long and is appropriate for all ages.
