PECO Free First Sunday with Student Art Show at Barnes Foundation
The Barnes Foundation is hosting a new pilot program in partnership with Central High School during PECO Free First Sunday on December 7, celebrating the creativity of 17 Philadelphia students who explored culture, tradition, and identity through watercolor paintings inspired by Henri Matisse and the fauvist movement. Guests can view the students’ final works in the Lower Level Lobby from 10am to 1pm and attend a presentation from 11am to noon in the Comcast NBCUniversal Auditorium, while also enjoying free admission to the collection, Henri Rousseau: A Painter’s Secrets, and a performance by the Philadelphia Youth Concert Band.
Registration for the free event opens Thursday, December 4 at 10am.
