Surround Yourself with a Kaleidoscope of Spring Color Thanks to Pennsylvania Horticultural Society
Spring has sprung, and all around Philadelphia you can find bright blooms at over 15 free-to-all gardens!
Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) is more than just the annual Flower Show, they also are known for the creation and maintenance of many public gardens and landscapes across the Philadelphia region. This year they have planted over 100,000 bulbs to delight you on a trail through Center City!
Visit the Ben Franklin Parkway, LOVE Park, Logan Square, the Rodin Museum, and the Azalea Garden at the Philadelphia Museum of Art over the next few weeks, and you’ll see what we mean. Spring colors abound with daffodils, tulips, perennials, and shrubs, giving a real pop of color to Philly’s urban epicenter. Bring your camera, your family, your friends, or even your pet for an impromptu photo shoot (or make it a selfie!).
Take a visit to the Delaware River Waterfront, where PHS will be refreshing the Cherry Street Pier’s garden with new, tropical-inspired landscapes, designed to enhance the experience for visitors taking in the Caribbean food offerings planned for this season. Peak timing for this adventure is mid-May, and plan on experiencing a real island vibe along the river!
These gardens, along with PHS’s 15+ other public gardens and landscapes throughout the Philadelphia region, will be refreshed with nearly 1,000 perennials repurposed and rehomed after being displayed on-site at the 2024 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show. Stop by a PHS-designed garden and experience these stunning selections re-envisioned outdoors!
