Celebrating 60 years, Greene Towne Montessori School, the longest running and only accredited Montessori school in Center City, is distinguished by its authentic Montessori practice, experienced faculty, and strong sense of community.
As an AMS- and PAIS-accredited Montessori school, Greene Towne serves children from 18 months to 9 years old in mixed-age classrooms. Dedicated Montessori-certified teachers and experienced assistants support students in discovering their path to learning, encouraging independence, confidence, and curiosity every day. With open-ended materials, learning is structured around uninterrupted time where children can explore, problem-solve, and grow at their own pace.
Greene Towne’s 30,000 square feet of custom-designed, thoughtfully prepared learning environments, including a rooftop playdeck, foster hands-on, self-directed learning. Their Montessori & Me infant and toddler parenting classes provide families with their first exposure to the Montessori philosophy. Greene Towne also facilitates Parent Education workshops – open to the greater community – on topics that matter most to families, including how best to support your child’s development through practical, Montessori-aligned approaches. Greene Towne offers both school day and all day schedules to accommodate the diverse needs of families who live and work in the city.
