Presidents Day Weekend and Opening of “Witness to Revolution” Special Exhibit

February 18 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Visit the Museum of the American Revolution during Presidents Day Weekend over Presidents Day Weekend, Saturday, Feb. 17 – Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, for the opening of their newest special exhibition, Witness to Revolution: The Unlikely Travels of Washington’s Tent. Throughout the weekend, explore the life, leadership, and legacy of George Washington and the diverse range of people with whom he interacted through discovery carts, pop-up talks, crafts, and more offerings that uncover the lesser-known stories of Washington’s 18th-century world.

Since 2017, General George Washington’s headquarters tent has been pitched at the Museum, where more than one million visitors have learned about Washington’s leadership and America’s ongoing experiment in liberty, equality, and self-government through an immersive presentation. Their newest special exhibit, Witness to Revolution: The Unlikely Travels of Washington’s Tent, opening Saturday, Feb. 17, will greatly expand the story told in this award-winning presentation and bring to life the stories of those who saved this remarkable artifact from being lost over the generations and who ultimately fashioned this relic into a symbol of the fragile American republic. It will bring together, in many cases for the first time, inspiring works of art, rare documents, and significant historical objects from public and private collections across the United States.
