Natural Creativity is a resource center for self-directed education located in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood. At NC, families who choose an alternative to traditional schooling receive support through a partnership model centering the three C's of Creativity, Compassion, and Collaboration. Young people ages 4-18 come to their space 1-3 days a week to explore a wide range of materials and opportunities with staff and other young people. They are designed to be a supplement to their families' homeschooling/self-directed education practice.
They are not recreating school; they are co-creating education and childhood, bringing young people to the forefront of their stories.

NC has been a huge blessing for our family. We are grateful to this school for providing a nurturing and invigorating space and staff that supplements our daughter’s unschooling/homeschooling otherwise. She’s made some good friends there (she has friends her age as well as older and younger – think French schoolhouse) and looks forward to her Natural Creativity each week.

Our daughters have attended NC for the last five years and the experience has helped them explore their own interests, experience a variety of materials and subjects freely, and connect with a diverse group of people within a caring and supportive environment. Our family has grown closer through the conflict resolution and communication skills that NC embodies and teaches the young people. In a world where childhood is overly structured it’s a joy to see our daughters be able to connect and communicate with others in such a safe and warm environment!
