What Are the Best Kid-Friendly Dining Spots in Philadelphia?

From kid-friendly menus to bowling alleys, Philly has loads of family-friendly dining options to choose from.  We break our list into two categories: “fun and family-friendly restaurants” and “restaurants with play spaces”.

Fun and Family-Friendly Philly Eats

Honey’s Sit ‘N Eat

800 North 4th Street 

Honey’s Sit ‘N Eat has been a neighborhood staple in Northern Liberties since 2005. Known for its tasty home-cooked food and casual atmosphere, Honey’s is a favorite amongst Philly parents.

Honey’s all day breakfast and lunch menus offer kid-approved brunch options like short stack pancakes, chicken fingers, and grilled cheese. The laid back environment is the perfect place to enjoy a weekend brunch. 

Morgan’s Pier

221 North Christopher Columbus Blvd. 

Philly’s “backyard beer garden on the waterfront,” Morgan’s Pier offers views of the Ben Franklin Bridge on the Delaware River. The space is open from April through October, with tons of entertainment and events throughout the season. 

With loaded fries, chicken tenders, and pizza options, you’ll be sure to find something for everyone on the menu. Picnic style seating makes accommodating groups and families a breeze. Enjoy the views until 9 pm, when the venue becomes 21 and up.

Other Half Brewing Philadelphia

1002 Canal Street

Looking for a place to take the kids to watch the game? Other Half Brewing Co. is a spacious taproom and brewery in Philly’s Fishtown, perfect for watch parties. 

Their outdoor beer garden includes yard games and plenty of room for kids to play. Their menu offers snacks, sandwiches, and kids’ bites along with draft beer, Pennsylvania cider, and cocktails for the adults.

Pizzeria Stella

420 S. 2nd Street 

Pizzerias are always a family favorite. Pizzeria Stella offers an elevated Neopolitan pizzeria experience that children and adults can enjoy. Right off Headhouse Square in Philadelphia’s Society Hill, Pizzeria Stella is a warm and friendly neighborhood staple.

You can’t go wrong with the wood-fired meatballs, spaghetti pomodoro, or any of the pizza options for your kiddos. For dessert, check out the gelato and sorbet selection, or fried dough with nutella for dessert. The restaurant also has a great selection of Italian beer, wine, and cocktails with a happy hour every Monday through Thursday from 4–6 pm. 

Reading Terminal Market

1136 Arch Street 

If you’re visiting any of Philly’s historic landmarks like the Liberty Bell on Market Street, Reading Terminal Market can be a great nearby dining option. One of the oldest and largest public markets in America, it has more than 80 merchants to choose from. 

Although it can be packed during holidays and weekends, Reading Terminal Market has a lively atmosphere that some families might enjoy. Get some shopping done and choose from a variety of eateries. You can find bao buns, cheesesteaks, corn dogs and ice cream, all under one roof.

Philly Restaurants with Play Spaces

Frankford Hall

1210 Frankford Ave 

In the heart of Philly’s Fishtown neighborhood, Frankford Hall is a popular beer garden with spacious communal seating and family-friendly fare. Think Bavarian pretzels, open-air picnic tables, and fire pits for s’mores. 

You can’t go wrong bringing kids of all ages to Frankford Hall. The space is lively and active with tabletop board games, ping pong and more. Be sure to add Frankford Hall to your list of kid-friendly beer gardens in Philadelphia to visit; you won’t be disappointed.  

Craft Hall

901 N. Delaware Ave. 

Who knew you could find a Philly indoor play space inside of a beer hall? Craft Hall is a large, family-friendly sports bar and brewery located right on the Delaware River waterfront in Northern Liberties. It is known for its spacious atmosphere and unique attractions for both adults and children. 

“The Den” features a pirate ship playground as well as arcade games both old and new. Their menu is full of classic American cuisine, including a “Little Ones” menu. You can also find a robust drink menu with draft beer, cocktails, and mocktails. 

Interstate Draft House

1235 E. Palmer Street 

Another Fishtown favorite, Interstate Drafthouse is a laid-back bar and grill with elevated pub food. The Philly tavern offers a cozy, casual ambiance with ample indoor and outdoor seating. If you prefer open-air dining, their courtyard is the perfect place. 

While they do not have a specific kids menu, their menu features loads of kid-friendly options such as quesadillas, baked mac and cheese, and pizza pretzels.  For adults, expect to find an extensive craft beer selection and their signature Fishtown Iced Teas.

Libertee Grounds

1600 W Girard Ave Suite C5 

Libertee Grounds is a restaurant and bar equipped with a 9-hole mini golf course. Located in the Fairmount neighborhood, the restaurant is less than a 10-minute drive from the Art Museum and the Franklin Institute.

Find local beer and cocktails, and asian bar fare on the menu, as well as a “kit’s menu”, featuring a cheeseburger, Philly cheesesteak or a grilled cheese. Guests under 21 are permitted from open to close Tuesday through Thursday, as well as Sunday. Fridays and Saturdays guests under 21 are welcome until 7pm.

North Bowl

909 N 2nd Street

If you’re looking for a fun-filled afternoon or night out with the family, try North Bowl in Northern Liberties. With 17 retro inspired lanes, an arcade, and pool tables, there’s no shortage of entertainment for kids of all ages. The lanes have bumpers and bowling ball ramps for young or novice bowlers. 

The venue offers elevated bowling alley fare like fried chicken sliders, hot dogs, and their famous loaded tater tots. Guests under 21 must leave at 8 pm, but there’s plenty of fun to have before then. 

South Bowl

19 E. Oregon Ave

South Bowl is North Bowl’s sister venue, located in South Philly off Oregon Avenue. Attending a game or concert at the South Philly sports complex? South Bowl is a great pre-game option.

South Bowl has all the same amenities as North Bowl, plus a wood-fired pizza oven. There’s also plenty of free parking for a stress-free trip there. 

Spruce Street Harbor Park

301 S Christopher Columbus Blvd

Spruce Street Harbor Park is a seasonal urban park and beer garden at Penn’s Landing. The park features a boardwalk lined with concessions, hammocks for lounging, and floating gardens and colorful LED lights to enjoy.

The park is free and open to the public. Choose from smoothies, hot dogs, tacos, ice cream, funnel cake and more. The park is open every day of the week through the end of September. 

Sunset Social at Cira Green

129 S. 30th Street

Sunset Social is a rooftop restaurant and bar at Cira Green, an elevated urban park located in University City. Cira Green is a publicly accessible year-round park, event venue, and lounge space, perfect for socializing and family outings. 

Sunset Social at Cira Green offers free Saturday Movie Matinees featuring family-friendly movies. You can also attend all age festivals while enjoying awesome city and river views. The menu includes kid favorites such as burgers and fries and chicken nuggets. For adults, check out their popular frozen drinks.
