Pumpkin Picking in New Jersey

Johnson’s Corner Farm

Johnson’s Corner Farm welcomes visitors to pick their own pumpkins, sunflowers, gourds, and apples during fall. The farm setting lends a classic harvest experience with its scenic fields as a backdrop. After picking, ride pedal go-karts, get lost in their corn maze, and and explore other play areas. In October, Harvest Festivals happen every weekend of the month, with a food tent, family activities, and live music. Timed ticket reservations are strongly recommended to guarantee admission.

Head to this preserved 17th century farm in rural New Jersey near Mt. Holly. The lovely farm setting creates an ideal atmosphere for a fun day of pumpkin picking. Apples are also available! Reserve your Park & Pick Day Pass online ahead of time for convenience.

Soak up the festive fall atmosphere of Pumpkinland at Linvilla Orchards. At Linvilla, you can pick from their bonanza of pre-picked pumpkins in all shapes and sizes. While there, visit their orchards with 25 varieties of apples for picking. In addition to pumpkins and apple picking, enjoy hayrides, a playground, and autumn and Halloween displays. And be sure to teat yourself to fresh apple cider, donuts, and other specialty foods at their farmers market.

Indian Orchards Farm

27 Copes Ln, Media, PA 19063

This 110+ year-old, family-run orchard and farm grows a large assortment of fruits and vegetables. Select pre-picked pumpkins from their patch, available at their farm stand. In the fall, their pick-your-own offerings include apples, figs, pears raspberries, and persimmons. Pick up a jug of their fresh-pressed cider and stop into the haunted barn. On weekends during apple season, catch a hayride out to the orchard for $11.99 per person. Weekday picking fee is $3.50 per person.

Where to Get Pumpkins in Chester County

Barnard’s Orchard

This fourth-generation, family-owned farm is best known for its orchards, with multiple varieties of pick-your-own apples. They offer pumpkin picking in their field, but it varies year-to-year. Call (610) 347-2151 or check their Facebook for availability. Nevertheless, during the fall season, you can pick from an assortment of traditional and heirloom varieties of pumpkins at their farm store. You can also stock up on their fresh cider, farm produce, local honey, and other specialty foods, as well.

Highland Orchards

Best known for its pick-your-own apples, Highland Orchards also boasts one of the largest pumpkin displays in Chester County. Not only can you peruse an assortment of pumpkin varieties, but you can find gaggles of gourds, as well. What’s more, it’s a fun destination for kids with fun activities like hayrides, face painting, and scarecrow building during their Harvest Festival weekends. Be sure sample their famous apple cider donuts.

Best Bucks County Pumpkin Spots

Shady Brook Farm

Hand-pick your perfect pumpkin at Shady Brook Farm’s pumpkin patch as part of FallFest, which runs September 12th through October 30th. With their FallFest ticket, families can also pick apples, take a hayride, navigate corn mazes, bounce on inflatables, and play on more than 25 other play attractions. Guests can also browse their farm market and visit their a pub with locally sourced wines. Pumpkins are sold separately from the FallFest admission ticket.

Styer Orchard

Take a drive out to Styer Orchard, located near Oxford Valley Mall, for pumpkin picking in their patch. Pick your own apples there, too, but bring your own bags or containers to hold your haul. A free tractor takes guests out to the orchard and fields and there is no entrance fee for picking.

Tabora Farm

During Fall Festival days (Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays) in October, Tabora Farms offers u-pick pumpkins — apples, too! Run by a family dedicated to growing high-quality produce, Tabora Farm offers easy parking, plus a farm store with a variety of homemade foods.

Frecon Farms

Make a day of it and visit Frecon Farms for an all around autumn experience. Purchase your pumpkin picking ticket at check in, which is redeemable for full pumpkin purchase at check out. Visitors can also pick apples from their extensive orchards, then sample some tasty goods in their bakery and farm store. Frecon Farms features a cider and espresso bar, which serves an array of specialty drinks, including their own hard ciders.

Pumpkin Day in Lancaster County

Cherry Hill Orchards

Make it a double-fun fall day and pick apples there, too — it’s known as one of the best apple-picking spots in Lancaster County. Pick your own pumpkins — and a wide variety of other produce throughout the growing season — at this family-friendly farm. At Breckenridge Orchard, no reservations are required and there’s no entrance, admission, or parking fee. Check their calendar for fall festivals and other seasonal events. Inside their farm market, choose from homemade pies, jams, specialty drinks, and fresh produce. On weekends, take a Wagon Ride Orchard Tour ($12.99 per person) and soak in the farmland scenery for a lovely fall experience.
