Asian Arts Initiative
Description
Connecting cultural expression and social change, Asian Arts Initiative uses art as a vehicle to explore the diverse experiences of all communities which include Asian Americans. At AAI, everyone can view and create art that reflects their lives, while thinking critically and creatively about the future they want to build for their communities.
Since 1998, the Youth Education Programs at Asian Arts Initiative have provided a safe, constructive space for Philadelphia youth to develop cross-cultural understanding and offer creative development opportunities. AAI provides year round, summer and afterschool programming for Middle and High school students as well as various community partnership programs.
Asian Arts Initiative’s Camp Bruce Lee, in partnership with the Bruce Lee Foundation, is a week-long program for youth (Ages 10-14) that teaches confidence and self-knowledge in a mind, body, spirit curriculum based on Bruce Lee’s philosophies and life.
