“Albert M. Greenfield School has great teachers and community involvement. My son has friends, is learning, and his teachers are helpful with the areas he needs work on” – Diane S.

“Stanton is an incredible public school that fostered my daughter’s love of learning and growing. They are a smaller-sized school so classes are intimate and everyone knows everyone. The teachers are top tier and go above and beyond for the students day in and day out. The administration has been consistent for a decade with no leadership changes or turnovers, and they really know the school and community’s needs and use that to help students grow.” – Caroline W.

French International/ L’école Française Internationale
“Wonderful language immersion program, warm and kind teachers. Lots of diversity in the school, with many nations represented, so there is a lot exposure to other cultures.” – Erika H.

Greater Hope Christian Academy
“I love Greater Hope because of the dedicated, compassionate, caring approach they have with their students. I love that they are old school yet innovative at the same time. I love the small student population, everyone knows everyone, making the school one big family.” – KCee H.

“Dobson has created community in the school and neighborhood for our family. James Dobson School has passionate teachers and great retention of their teachers. It’s small in size which is perfect for creating a strong community for each grade and between grades. Reading mentors is one of our favorite things to see older classrooms mentor and read with younger ones. Garden Club and Lego Club are a hit! Best part is being in the classroom with kids that live right down the street. Meet ups at local parks after school and seeing your friends on the walk. This is the best thing about being part of your neighborhood school community.” – Jess R.

“PJDS is such a welcoming and nurturing environment. My children have grown exponentially with the help of PJDS staff and their curriculum. They have not only enjoyed learning and gained an interest in becoming educators themselves, but they have expanded their knowledge while simultaneously developing the skills to learn another language proficiently.” – Loren O.

Philadelphia Hebrew Public Charter School
“Great (OLAM) values driving the mission of the school. Really great curriculum. Accepting children from 37 zip codes of Phila. Added bonus of language immersion from day 1. Responsive staff that stay on top of issues and always creating more opportunities for joy for students throughout the year. A parent committee that helps to bring all families together all over the city.” – Emily M.

Plymouth Meeting Friends School
“This is our 11th year as a PMFS family, I love that PMFS is an intentionally small school dedicated exclusively to the early childhood and elementary years. My child (and her older sib alum) truly sees PMFS as her second home, where she knows and is known by all the faculty and staff, has been intentionally challenged and supported across all subject areas, and feels free to be herself. In fact, I love that PMFS is a school where all kids can be themselves, regardless of their particular passions, strengths, or quirks. PMFS teachers are great at building community both within their classrooms and across grades and absolutely take to heart the Quaker testimonies of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equity, and Stewardship. The school’s commitment to social justice and empowering students to speak up and work for change has also been important to us. Kids’ access to and ability to interact with nature, even so close to a bustling commercial area, was one of the big draws for us. We also have been impressed by the many experiential overnight opportunities our children have had at PMFS.” – Jessica

“I like SMS because its location is convenient and the class sizes are small. My child gets all the attention she needs. The principal tries to know all the kids’ names. It’s all-day kindergarten which was a significant concern I had. Also, her teacher is the best when it comes to responding to emails.” – Tava

The Philadelphia Classical School
“The teachers and administrators care not only about the academics of the children but the children’s character, truly nurturing their growth as a person. It’s academically rigorous. Arts and music are a staple of the school experience. My children are thriving. Above all it’s Christ-centered. It’s why we are here and staying in Philly. Can’t say enough good things!” – Heather S.

“The community. Principal Mason, the faculty, staff, Friends of Mifflin organization, and Mifflin students and families make Mifflin a genuine, thriving, inclusive, dynamic, diverse, and holistic-learning community. Our daughter has been at Mifflin since Kindergarten and she is now in second grade. All of her teachers have been creative, honest, engaging, and inspiring, even throughout a pandemic. Our kiddo loves knowing so many kids and teachers at the school and Principal Mason and teacher Michelle Shaw-Carpenter are beacons for the students grades PK-8. The Friends of Mifflin and parent-teacher organization are also such supportive entities for the students and teachers, even raising funds and rallying with the district for a new playground to be installed at the school, a many, many year commitment and accomplishment. We feel quite fortunate to be a part of such an awesome community.” – Jill H.

“Amazing staff and community involvement!” – Colin M.

“I’ve been studying animals as long as I can remember. I care about them and I care about nature. At Wissahickon, we get to take hikes and you can actually see what my teacher is talking about. Sometimes I know basic facts, but when we go on hikes I get to see those things in person.” – A Wissahickon Charter student
