Top Middle Schools in Philly

Discover the Philly Family Community's Top Recommended Middle Schools to find the right fit for your student.

Known as a trusted Facebook Group in our area, local families are always ready to share their expertise in the Philly Family Community. That’s why when we asked “Who are the top Middle Schools in our area?” they helped us get started (but we still need YOUR HELP)!

First, we’re pleased to introduce you to our Philadelphia Family Education Partner Members, who support our Community and Education Guide. Have you had a great experience with any of them? You can help other families benefit from your experience with an endorsement on their Profile Page!

Other local Middle Schools we’ve received recommendations for in our School Survey are linked below so you can explore them as well. If your Middle School isn’t on our list and you love them, please complete our School Survey or comment with a link to their website. We hope this list gets you started on a path to finding the right fit for your child and we invite you to share it with your friends!

                    Friends Select School

“Academic rigor without the pressure. The teachers, advisors and staff know your child. My 2 children transferred there for upper school. First one graduated in 2022, college process, was seamless, she’s happy and well prepared for her college experience. Biochemistry /molecular Biolgy major at Penn State’s Eberly College of Science. Daughter was also an art major at FSS, and that program is top notch too! Strong math curriculum, sports where all students can participate, clubs and so much more. Strong parent community and all located in center city Philly. We love the student teachers ratio as well as the intimate class size. My children thrived there. I wish I could have gone to FSS!” – Sue G.
