A neighborhood of arts, culture, and fun, Fishtown has many great places to explore. In addition to these options, there are year-round street fairs to catch in the neighborhood. 

Brooklyn Bowl

1009 Canal Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123

At this 12-lane bowling alley you can play, dine and rock out to live music and DJ entertainment. While you can catch top acts here at night, the downstairs restaurant and lanes open at 6 pm each night. Looking for fun with the kids? Family bowling hours are 2 to 6 pm each Saturday. 

Fishtown Recreation Center

1202 East Montgomery Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19125

The Fishtown Recreation Center provides play for all ages. In addition to a playground, basketball courts, and covered hockey rink, its sprayground offers welcome relief from summerโ€™s heat.

Nicknamed โ€œMural City,โ€ Philadelphiaโ€™s Fishtown neighborhood certainly lives up to that reputation. Take a stroll down Frankford Avenue and its surrounding blocks to view some of the street art that showcases the neighborhood. Completed by community artists, these include beautiful paintings, murals, and installations.

Penn Treaty Museum

900 East Columbia Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19125

The Penn Treaty museum honors a special moment in history: the Treaty of Friendship agreement between indigenous inhabitants of Shakamaxon and William Penn. A visit here not only honors the moment, but pays homage to the historic era in which the city was built.

Penn Treaty Park

To enjoy a perfect afternoon outside (and catch a unique view of the Philly skyline), visit Penn Treaty Park. A few blocks from the center of Fishtown, this green space features walking trails. While there are plenty of playgrounds around the city, this park has a spot for the little ones, too. 

Philadelphia Brewing Company

2440 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19125

While not in Fishtown proper, Philadelphia Brewing Company lies within a short walking distance. Operating out of a brewery that was originally built in 1885, itโ€™s one of the most historic breweries in all of the city. In addition to picking up some of their famous in-house brews, free tours of the facility run every third Saturday of the month in the afternoons from 12 to 3 pm.

Shissler Recreation Center

1800 Blair Street, Philadelphia, PA 19125

Sitting on 5+ acres of land, the Shissler Recreation Center has fun for the whole family. In addition to play equipment, their play area features a sprayground, basketball courts and soccer fields. In addition, the center offers kids camp all summer long.

The Fillmore

29 E Allen Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123

Opening in 2015, The Fillmore has risen as a top music venue in Philadelphia. Primarily showcasing alternative acts, the venue is a traditional general admission space but with modern aesthetics.

Frankford Hall

This German-style beer garden offers both indoor and outdoor dining. With spacious communal seating, the expansive menu includes German staples such as sausage, strรผdel, and speciality drafts. Other options include worth-the-trip burgers, sandwiches, and salads.

Dottieโ€™s Donuts

One of four locations around the city, Dottieโ€™s Donuts specializes in all-vegan donuts โ€” including Boston Cream. Their location on Frankford Ave offers one of the best spots to grab a sweet treat around Fishtown. 

Interstate Draft House

Want to eat like a Fishtown local? Stop into Interstate Draft House, a โ€œPhilly styleโ€ tavern for creative pub fare, craft beers, and iced-tea based cocktails. 

Joeโ€™s Steaks & Soda Shop

Looking for that classic Philly cheesesteak? Visit Joeโ€™s in Fishtown. Located right on Girard Avenue, Joeโ€™s is known for its traditional Philly cheesesteaks and old-fashioned milkshakes.

La Colombe

La Colombe on Frankford Avenue is the perfect stop for a coffee, latte, or matcha during your Fishtown stroll. Beyond their great drinks and quick cafe-style bites, this location holds a special place in history as the very first La Colombe ever opened.

LMNO

LMNO is a 1970s-inspired cocktail lounge that specializes in Mexican cuisine. If their margaritas werenโ€™t enough, their nachos, tacos, or homemade guacamole. Open year-round, LMNO makes for a lovely spot on a summer afternoon or evening. 

Loco Pez

Loco Pez serves up some of the best Mexican food in the city. A California-style taqueria, enjoy their wide ranging menu and dollar-taco happy hour.
