The School District of Philadelphia is kicking off its annual Ring the Bell Bus Tour, bringing free backpacks, health services, educational activities, and family fun directly to neighborhoods across the city. This year’s tour kicks off on August 3rd and continues throughout the month until the first day of school on Monday, August 24th.

What Is the Ring the Bell Bus Tour?
The Ring the Bell Bus Tour is an annual outreach event by the School District of Philadelphia designed to help families gear up for the new school year. The bus tour travels to multiple neighborhood sites across Philadelphia, offering families access to:
- Free backpacks filled with school supplies
- Back-to-school tips and important information
- Immunizations and school physicals
- Snacks and frozen treats for kids
- Fun educational activities and games
- Enrollment and Parent Portal account support

When and Where Is the Bus Tour Happening?
All Ring the Bell Bus Tour stops run from 10 am to 2 pm. Here’s the full schedule of stops:

- Friday, August 7, 2026 – Penrose School (Little School House), 2515 S. 78th Street
- Tuesday, August 11, 2026 – Marcus Foster Memorial Stadium (Gratz Supersite), 1627 W. Hunting Park Avenue
- Saturday, August 15, 2026 – Roosevelt Mall, 2339 Cottman Avenue
