GSEP needs staff who are enthusiastic, great with girls, and can encourage their exploration and love of the outdoors. GSEP has a variety of positions available for the upcoming summer. Join them as a general counselor or aide and enjoy all things camp. Are you an already an expert or interested in becoming an expert in a specialized program area? GSEP offers certifications on specialized programs such as archery, lifeguarding, and adventure. Environmental education, horseback riding, camp nurses, and cook positions are also available for those who have prior experience.
Aren’t available the entire summer? No problem! There are also 4–8-week positions available.
Benefits to you: Competitive salary, friendly atmosphere, and a 50% discounted rate for one family member (child, stepchild, grandchild, sister, or niece)
New this year, select individuals could qualify for their Pathways for Youth Grant Program which offers extra compensation to help prepare for the summer. Grant participants will also be provided with extra pre-camp training to help them prepare for the summer, as well as a post-camp career and higher education planning.
Qualifications:
- Ages 15-21 years old
- Lives in one of the targeted counties listed below:
- Philadelphia County* (High Priority Area)
- Communities of Reading, Allentown, Norristown
- Additional counties & communities are under consideration
- Falls into one of the categories below:
- People of Color
- Diversely-Abled
- Rural
- LGBTQ+
- Low Income
- Opportunity Youth
Working at camp is a valuable opportunity for any young adult. The goal of the grant program is to make working at camp more accessible to those who may have never been to camp before. Grant participants will be provided with extra funds to purchase things like sleeping bags, outdoor shoes, backpacks, and more supplies that would be helpful in a camp environment. At the end of the summer, participants will receive additional compensation for completing the summer.
