Greene Towne Montessori Introduces Montessori & Me Classes
Discover Montessori learning with your infant or toddler!

Starting in September and led by Montessori certified teacher Olivia Powers, Greene Towne has introduced Montessori & Me Playgroup classes for young children accompanied by their grown-ups (parents or caregivers/authorized adult.) Each age cohort meets one day a week from 9:15-11:45 am in 6 – 8 week sessions and is limited to 10 children and their grown-ups. The Tuesday playgroup is for 9 – 15-month-olds who are crawling, scooting, or cruising; the Wednesday playgroup is for 12 – 24-month-olds who are walking independently; and the Thursday playgroup is for 18 – 30-month-olds. There is also a Parent/Infant class on Wednesday afternoons.
During classes, older infants and toddlers spend the morning exploring the Montessori environment while their grown-ups learn how to support their child’s natural drive to learn and grow. The morning starts with a group circle time, bringing everyone together with a welcome song, stories, and rhymes. During open “work” time, children engage in several developmentally appropriate and child-centered Montessori activities. The morning wraps up with another group time and a goodbye song.
