Celebrate love in the City of Brotherly Love.

What time is it? It’s Valen-times! The pandemic has certainly made things different, but there are still plenty of ways to celebrate with your little ones in the City of Brotherly Love (and at home). Here’s what’s in store to celebrate a sweet family Valentine’s Day– check back as we add more events as they are announced.

Virtual  Free Valentine Make-in

Join teaching artist Mindy Flexer and Weaver’s Way Co-Op to make valentines! All ages are welcome. Younger children should have an adult companion. Free; pre-register online. A Zoom link will be emailed to you prior to the event.

Valentine’s Day Kits from Beehive at Bok and The Craftship

Order by February 12 for shipping; pickup available on February 13 at Bok


Celebrate love, family and friendship with some Valentine’s Day crafting. These kits by artist Steph Kimmel include materials and directions to make chunky-knit necklaces and watercolor pins together. You can also add on Mighty Bread’s Valentine’s Day Cookie Decorating Kit! Order by February 12 for delivery, or plan to pick up at Bok Building on February 13.

Schuylkill Saturdays: Free Valentine’s Day Themed Kit and Exploration

Pick up a free nature exploration kit at the Visitor Center and then hit the trails with your family to complete the Valentine’s-themed activities inside. Explorer kits can be picked up anytime between 10 am and noon. All ages welcome. No registration or fee required. Masks are required when picking up your kit.

Virtual Kids in the Kitchen: Chocolate Covered Pretzels and Heart Truffles

In this 90-minute Zoom session with Kitchen Wizards, kids ages 8-12 will be guided step-by-step through two recipes in a fun, interactive, and educational class. Pre-register online.

Sleeping Beauty Family Brunch

Arthaus is bringing back its popular free concerts from last fall for a special Valentine’s Day treat. Stand on the corner of Broad and Spruce as University of the Arts faculty and students perform from the seventh floor of the Arthaus Condominium construction site.

Virtual  PECO Family Jams with Philadelphia Magic Gardens: Heart-Shaped Boxes

The Magic Gardens are making heart-shaped boxes for Valentine’s Day, but they mean the body part! Follow along with their instructional video to make construct heart-shaped box worthy of love, then join them for a virtual look at just a few of the many body parts incorporated into the art at PMG!

Virtual Valentine Tea Party with Princesses

Join Princess Tiana, Rapunzel, and Belle for an afternoon full of virtual magic. The event will include games, conversation, and a digital photo download for each child. Tickets available online.

This dark chocolate heart is beautifully painted (pink or red) and filled with raspberry marshmallows and mixed berry truffles. Use the provided hammer to break it open for a delicious dessert.
